Surrounding
Areas
The
wide-open spaces offer exceptional opportunities
for horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and biking.
For those who enjoy four-wheeling and ATV adventures,
there are extensive networks of off-road trails
in the area. Terrain varies from classic western
red rock spires to alpine forests. You can ride
directly from our Park on Smokey Mtn. Road and
head toward Hole-in-the-Rock Road for fun riding
experiences. Within minutes from our Park you
can be in the desert enjoying hiking in slot canyons
or in the Dixie Nat'l Forest at 9000 feet amongst
the pines and aspens to sight-see or fish for
trout. Escalante State Park and Petrified Forest
is only 1/2 mile away, and Calf Creek Trailhead
15 minutes (a must-see waterfall). See Area
Information
for more details.
Plan
to spend more than a day here in Escalante, as
there is much more to do than people realize.
For example: our friendly small town has most
things to fit your needs, such as a grocery store,
bank, post office, restaurants, pizza & fast
food, art galleries, auto services and medical
clinic.
|
| The
scenery is spectacular and we supply free maps
that will give you a lot of options for points
of interest, and also Things
To Do;
visiting Hole-in-the-Rock, Devils Garden, Hells
Back Bone, and much more. |
